Service Description

Diabetes Type 2 can often be delayed or prevented through lifestyle changes. Pre-diabetes is a crucial time to act before the condition progresses further and a person fully develops diabetes type 2. In this session, we assess your current diet, weight, lifestyle habits, and risk factors. You'll receive education on diabetes, co-existing conditions (e.g., hypertension, cholesterol), and cultural or individualized diet strategies. Learn how to lower HbA1c, understand the glycemic index, and build a meal plan focused on whole grains, fiber-rich foods, and healthy fats. We’ll support you through label reading, eating out, and setting sustainable goals—with follow-ups to track your progress. Here is what we can do for diabetes prevention and to support pre-diabetic patients: • Review and assessing your dietary habits, physical activity level, other lifestyle factors, and overall health status and receive recommendations on what to change or adjust in your diet to lower your HbA1c level • Providing education on diabetes itself healthy eating and other lifestyle factors to reduce risk of developing diabetes or avoid developing type 2 diabetes if already at the pre-diabetic stage • Reviewing other co-existing health conditions that has impact on developing diabetes such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gestational diabetes, sleep apnea, obesity, steroids use, etc • Providing individualized and culture based recommendations to make positive changes that helps avoid developing diabetes • Manage your weight to avoid developing diabetes or help improve your pre- diabetic status. Weight loss is a known strategy for diabetes prevention and control • Learn how regular activity can help prevent diabetes • Learn about glycemic index, its importance in reducing blood sugar and diabetes control, and how to choose food with low glycemic index • Learn how to read food labels to make healthy food choices for diabetes by learning about important nutrients in the food labels such as sugar, carbohydrates, fibres, etc -learn how to eat out in a diabetic friendly way • Book a session for co-creating a personalized and healthy meal plan to avoid or manage diabetes by choosing more whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low fat proteins and learn what to limit in your diet such as sugar, processed foods, unhealthy fats, etc • Follow up to ensure you’re on top of everything related to diabetes and its prevention

To ensure smooth and fair access to our services, please review the following booking policies: Session Scheduling Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Clients can select their preferred language: English, French, or Farsi (Persian). Sessions are held online via a secure video platform. A link will be sent to your email upon confirmation. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know when booking. Payment Policy Full payment is required at the time of booking. Secure payment options are available via the website. Receipts for insurance or tax purposes can be provided upon request. Rescheduling and Cancellation You may reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours before your session with no penalty. To cancel or reschedule, please use the link in your confirmation email or contact us directly at info@nutriforfamilies.com Missed appointments or cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. Late Arrivals If you are late, your session will still end at the scheduled time to respect other clients. If you are more than 15 minutes late without notice, the session will be considered missed.
