Meet Laili – Nutritionist & Ph.D. Scientist

Hi, I'm Laili, the founder of Nutri For Families.

From a young age, I was captivated by science and filled with questions about biology, food, and their impact on health. My journey began with a Ph.D. in molecular biology and microchip technology in Japan, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at French National Research Centre (CNRS), and later research work at the University of Toronto.

Despite a fulfilling scientific career, my passion for nutrition and preventative health kept growing. I chose to return to school and earned an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Ottawa, specializing in clinical nutrition.

Why I Started Nutri For Families

While working in hospitals and clinics, I observed the same pattern again and again—many patients were suffering from diseases that could have been prevented with earlier access to proper nutritional information. This realization fueled my commitment to prevention-focused nutrition counselling.

I believe the family is the foundation of health. Our eating habits often begin in childhood and are shaped by those around us. Families typically share meals, routines, and habits—and that makes them the perfect place to start making lasting, healthy lifestyle changes.

A Multicultural Approach to Wellness

Having lived in Japan, France, and Canada, I bring a global perspective to healthy eating. I draw inspiration from the vibrant, wholesome elements of Japanese, French, Persian, and Mediterranean cuisines.

I’m proud to offer nutrition counselling in English, French, and Farsi (Persian)—so we can work together in the language that feels most natural to you.

My Approach to Nutrition

At Nutri For Families, all services are grounded in the latest scientific research and professional best practices. I focus on preventive nutrition, helping clients build habits that reduce their risk of developing chronic illnesses and support long-term well-being.

Whether you're working on weight management, navigating a life stage like pregnancy or older adulthood, or simply want to feel more energized and confident in your lifestyle—I'm here to support you.

Let’s work together to make nutrition feel approachable, joyful, and empowering.
